On books and magazines: Slides of some non-mathematical lectures I have given:
Sorry, large files here (these are lectures with examples from painting, and I see no reasonable way to reduce the size of the files).

These are lectures for the wide public, given at Bogotá's main library (Biblioteca Luis Ángel Arango), by kind invitation of Stella de Páramo of Biblioteca Luis Ángel Arango and William López of Museo Nacional de Colombia). Not very detailed slides, but may be of interest...
  1. Música y matemática en el barroco: el hilo de Ariadna para salir del laberinto - Kircher - Monteverdi - Leibniz, (in Spanish) invited talk for the series "Póngase Barroco", organized by Biblioteca Luis Ángel Arango, Banco de la República, Bogotá, October 2001.
  2. La sala holandesa en la colección Rau: puntos de contacto entre pintura y matemática del siglo XVII, invited guided visit for the Rau Collection Exhibit in Bogotá. Museo Nacional de Colombia and Banco de la República, July 2002.

Computers:
  • Dropline Gnome, in combination with
  • Slackware Linux power my main machines, at home and on campus;
  • Mac OS X, combined with
  • Darwin Ports make another interesting combination - with advantages and disadvantages over the previous (Slackware + Dropline is more bleeding edge design, OS X + Darwin is perhaps easier for day to day work).
  • Hereis a Scribus Tutorial by Niyam Bhushan - Scribus is an open source program for Publication Design.
  • These pages are designed and edited with a combination of Bluefish and (of course) emacs.
